Thank you to all the ladies who joined us tonight to hear about the impactful resources in our community!

We heard presentations from Dawn from Standing Stone, Emily from HOPE and Karen from the Hour House. Each organization provides vitally important services to those in need locally.

Standing Stone provides clothing, shoes, food and more. Volunteers are always in need, and they also have a current shortage of children’s and men’s clothing. Donation information and hours, including which Saturdays physical donations are accepted, are available on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StandingStoneCC/

HOPE of East Central Illinois provides emergency shelter, legal advocacy, children’s programs, crisis calls and transitional housing to victims of domestic violence. Information on services, community events and a place for donations is available on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/hopeofeci/

The Hour House offers a variety of services to individuals struggling with substance abuse. Services range from assessments, to residential service, to recovery navigators. More information is available on their website: https://hourhouserecovery.org/

Each of these organizations makes a difference in our community. The votes tonight went in favor of the Hour House and donations from members in attendance totaled $1,750. For those unable to make it in person, donations can be mailed to:

Hour House, c/o Karen Cook, 635 Division St., P.O. Box 532, Charleston, Illinois 61920

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting, on Thursday, January 25th.
